Removing the Wig
You will need:
A small, blunt knife, or screwdriver, or similar object
Glued Wig
Find a starting point
Locate an area on the wig where a blunt knife, flat-head screwdriver, or similar object can slide in.
Loosen the wig
With the blunt knife or flat-tip screwdriver pushed under the wig, rotate it a little to pry the wig from the head. Slide the blunt object over and turn it a little to pry more of the wig off.
Remove the wig
Once enough of the wig has been loosened to get a hold of it, it should be able to be gently tugged the rest of the way off. If not, continue with the blunt object to loosen any trouble areas.
Clean up
Any remaining glue or hairs may be manually removed.
You may attach a different wig by either gluing the new wig on, or by using velcro, or double-sided tape.
Rooted Wig
To remove a rooted wig, you must remove the scalp. Turn the doll over so that the back of the head is facing you, and pull the wig up so the hair is out of the way. Find the joint where the scalp is connected to the head and slide the knife in, using a "push in then up" method. The scalp, which is made of a softer plastic than the faceplate and the back of head, should start to pop up. Continue all the way around until the scalp can be lifted off. To put the scalp back on, use regular white, water-based craft PVC glue around the rim of the scalp. Secure with a rubber band until dry.
You can change the scalp to a non-rooted scalp if you wish to change wigs regularly, but you cannot remove the hair from the original scalp.
