Type 1

Pullip's First Body

Pullip's very first body had visible screws on the body and the largest bust of all four. The problem with this body was the neck was too weak to support Pullip's large head, the joints were quite weak, and the plastic seams split often.

Type 2

Pullip's second body

Beginning with Venus in January, 2004, Pullip's second body introduced a soft torso and is to date the most flexible body and the most curvy body. The problem with this body is "tummy pop", where the soft torso would come out of the hip joint. It can be fixed by stuffing strips of foam into the torso. Other problems are loose joints where arms would fall off, and melting on the joints where the hips met the soft torso.

Type 3

Pullip's third body

Beginning with Lan Ai, Lan Ake, and Purezza '05 Summer in July, 2005, Pullip's third body was the least flexible of the four bodies, with limited movement in the wrists and legs. It had only frontward and backward flexing wrists that were very prone to "wrist crack". Type 3 bodies were also quite fragile and limbs broke off reasonably easy. The bust had also shrunk from the previous Type 2.

Type 4

Pullip's fourth body

Beginning with Neo Noir in January, 2009, Pullip's fourth body (the current body) is the skinniest body to date. It has very "Dal" like joints, except for the removal of the swiveling waist joint. Her wrists can now turn 360 degrees, and there are no visible screws on this body. The main problems with this body are the leg and wrist joints falling out and body flop, because currently there is no fix for leg flop as the legs are on ball joints inside the actual leg. Also, the neck peg appears to be the same as the Type 3, so body swapping between these two is much easier than with the older types with different neck pegs.

There is a fix for "bust flop", but it requires "cracking" open the body at the seams (causing a little damage) and wrapping the ball joint with some sort of material to stop it from moving around freely. This is not recommended due to the fact that the body will not go back together perfectly. It will have tiny gaps in the seams of the plastic, unless glued and bound with elastic bands until the glue is dry.
