Making Pullip clothes

You will need:

  • A small sewing needle
  • Some fabric (cotton and polyester cotton blends are easy to use)
  • Fabric scissors
  • Thread (preferably the color of the fabric you're making the clothes with, as it generally looks better, unless

you're going for the different colored thread effect)

  • A sewing machine (optional)
  • A sewing pattern for Pullips
  • Sewing pins

First, lay out your fabric of choice on a table and make sure you have enough of it for the article of clothing you're going to make. Take the pattern and lay it down, pinning it so it stays in place, and cut around the pattern, leaving 2-3cm for seams (and/or extra to make sure there is enough fabric). After you have cut around it, leaving enough room for seams, thread either the sewing machine, or (if you are hand sewing) the needle.

Choose which side is going to be the outside and which is going to be the inside. Then fold the seams over on the inside and sew around the seams of the article of clothing (this is to make sure that the edges don't fray and start to unravel). After all the seams have been sewn up, start to sew the outfit together at the joins according to where they are on the pattern, making sure that you're sewing the outfit so that it'll be inside out (and making sure to secure ways for your doll to be able to put it on, using velcro, clasps etc). After completing all the joins and making sure the velcro is sewn on (which will allow your doll to get in and out of the outfit), turn your outfit the right way out and try it on your doll.
